Calling all HOK’ers
May is Bike to Work Month
Boring commutes got you down? Well then add some fun and excitement by putting your green pedal power to work during May’s Bike to Work month and the Group Health Commute Challenge. This event is sponsored by the nation’s largest bike club, the Cascade Bicycle Club based in Seattle, and has grown tremendously in the last 5 years with over a thousand teams participating in 2008 – check out the stats. This is a terrific event that promotes sustainability and good health. If you are interested in joining a team or being a team captain it is quick and FREE to set up. So far several HOK teams have formed and are ready to roll!
The Big Idea:
- Create or join a HOK team in your office, 4-10 people.
- Ride your bike to work at least 5 times in May.
- Track your teams results online.
- Compete with other offices and other firms.
- Get healthy while reducing your carbon footprint.
- Just have fun!

Happy riding!

L.A. is in! And I’m inspired to trade in my egg beater pedals once and for all and get me some city toe clips. Maybe even a new set of handlebars.
Well you’re one step ahead of me, I still need to get a bike. It doesn’t have to be pretty, it’s only a quarter mile ride to work…
Blake – Make sure you get a bike that does this:
