HOK vs. Copenhagen

HOK Bike to Work Month is Shaping Up

Thank you, Jim Rice, for pointing us to this video.

With the Bike to Work Month Commute Challenge kicking off Friday May 1st HOK has already shown great enthusiasm with teams from across the firm and around the globe stepping up to meet the challenge. Leading the way is the Washington DC office with three teams signed up so far, including our very own Bill Hellmuth. Way to go DC! As of this morning we have 8 offices and 11 teams participating, with several other teams still forming. If you would like to join the fun it’s not too late. Teams can still form well into the month. For more information see the previous HOKlife blog post, and while you are at it, take a look at this very cool blog, courtesy of Jim Rice.

HOK Atlanta
HOK Chicago
HOK Washington DC (3 Teams)
HOK Houston
HOK India
HOK Los Angeles (2 Teams)
HOK Seattle
HOK Singapore

Thanks to Todd Buchanan for getting this going and keeping us motivated.

We’re definitely getting amped up here in Seattle. On our Seattle team we have Todd, Tim Weyand, Keith Hui and myself, and we’re all ready to start racking up the miles. Admittedly, my commute is short — according to google it’s precisely .4mi + 59ft. Keith’s isn’t much longer, maybe .75 miles. That’s where Todd comes in with his 30 miles each way commute from the distant burbs, across a lake, and into the city. Tim’s commute is broken in two by his 30 minute ferry ride across the Puget Sound – a beautiful combination of public transportation and muscle power.

Stay tuned to this blog stream as we’ll be posting mileage updates, photos, and off-the-wall stories as the competition makes way.

Ride Safe!

    Hey Todd
Give us a quick photo/video tour of your commute – sounds lovely!

Also, note that Atlanta includes one of it’s extended family members Rohit Saxena who has recently started an HOK office in India – he’ll be racking up the miles too.
