Allstar Hangover

The crowds have left, the sponsor vans are hitting the road, and hotdog wrappers are about all that’s left behind. Allstar Game week is sadly over here in St. Louis, but we surely savored every moment of it. I had the opportunity to attend Monday night’s Homerun Derby with my stylish colleague Jaki  thanks to our friends at Fleishman Hillard. We sat about 8 rows off the field and got to see the NL players up close and personal, like our very own – Albert Pujols.

We really enjoyed performances by former American Idol contestant Nikko Smith (Ozzie Smith’s son) and of course my favorite past Idol Winner David Cook. (I heart him.) I told my husband if David and I ever meet, he’s in trouble. : ) Kidding!

I think one of the best parts was seeing all the participating team mascots at the event. Jaki and I got invidual photos with the Washington Nationals’ eagle mascot. It was likely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

(NOTE: HOK ST. LOUIS IS HOUSED IN THE HOK-DESIGNED METROPOLITAN SQUARE BUILDING — THE ONE WITH THE GREEN ROOF IN THE MAIN PHOTO. : ))

Instead of sitting and watching, last weekend we rode the Seattle to Portland bike ride – 204 miles in one day – fund raised for health care projects and had a grand home run of a good time. Pictures looking good too
