A Day in the Life of An Advance Strategist

HOK Washington, DC

About a year ago, I gave you an update of what was going on in my work life.  Looking back over the last year of Life@HOK, I thought it might be fun to revisit that post, and let you know what’s going on now!  You’ll see from the list below that some things have stayed the same, but lots of cool new things have come up too!

Revisiting old news:

  • GSA Unit Cost Study: just about wrapped up!
  • U.S. Capitol Complex Master Plan (still going, and I still can’t tell you more or I’d have to shoot you)
  • Blogging on The Green Workplace
  • Blogging on Life@HOK

Sharing new news:

  • NeoCon East presentation wrap-up (presented again on Oct 28)
  • U.S. Department of Education Feasibility Study – we’re helping groups figure out how to move into the newly modernized Switzer Building
  • Confidential pharmaceutical company – consolidating groups into a single campus, using alternative work strategies.
  • Howard University Master Plan – developing a master program that will help guide the master plan effort
  • New, top-secret website development to showcase HOK’s workplace expertise (look for updates on Life@HOK soon!)
  • Working on proposals (this is really fun, so if you have any cool jobs/RFPs  related to programming, predesign, workplace strategy, or green design, etc., please send them my way!)

Looking back, I have to say it’s been a pretty good year.  I’ve worked on some amazing projects, traveled to some cool places,  met more awesome people across the firm, and been involved in some pretty fun extra-curricular activities (and curricular ones too).
