It’s That Time Again: World’s Ugliest Buildings

200910-w-ugly-ferdinand

Last year I shared with you Virtual Tourist’s list of the Top 10 Ugliest Buildings.  There was ome serious debate as to whether or not they’d got it right.  Good news for you debators: Travel + Leisure Magazine has released their list of the World’s Ugliest Buildings (15 selections here).  I think they’ve selected some real gems here.

Again, still missing some of my most hated DC-area buildings (FBI building, shopping bag building in Tysons Corner, most of Southwest DC).

the basket does make me smile. but I do believe they have found some real ‘winners’. but i too think the fbi hq and the library at Georgetown University desrve an honorable mention.

It’s interesting that structures by Frank Gehry and Michael Graves are highlighted. It shows that the ’starchitects’ of different eras usually design buildings that many architects love – while many non-architects loathe…
