HOK WDC really Cares

HOK WDC’s We Care 2009 Team
Going on its second year, the HOK team, spearheaded again by Pia Hill, included Todd Pedersen, Jelena Lustica, Jodi Williams, Daphne Kiplinger, Nita Tuvesson, Elizabeth Corona, and off camera, Emilio Stokes. I showed up a little later in the evening but still definitely felt the great vibe from the children’s enthusiasm as they showed off the gifts they had made that afternoon.
Again on a rainy but very concurred night, the We Care event was held at the Columbia Heights’ Boys & Girls Club. The local architecture firms that participated this year incorporated craft tables and some also prize winning games. We were treated to pizzas while the kids danced to the music and prepared their Holiday gifts. These were later wrapped and before heading back home most children stayed, played, shared stories and commented on their favorite crafts. This year HOK team’s contribution was decoratable glass jars, with Holiday Laser-cut shapes, stickers, markers, etc.

It was a very fun evening!

i love that my mouth is WIDE open!
Way to go DC team!
We’re doing our We Care event in St. Louis tonight! Our craft is really cool this year. We should put all of our ideas of past crafts in one place to share with all of our offices. (That’s the hardest part every year – coming up with a good, inexpensive, easy-to-do, but fun craft!)
