Here Comes the Neighborhood

The HOK Atlanta office continued its tradition of lending a helping hand, volunteering an afternoon of service to a local charitable organization last Friday. This year the office found an alignment of purpose in the Fuller Center for Housing, a local non-profit group founded by Millard and Linda Fuller who also co-founded Habitat for Humanity. The missions of the two organizations are similar but the Fuller Center is distinguished by a focus on rehabilitating communities and neighborhoods rather than a single home within a neighborhood.

The afternoon of service began after the office’s Thanksgiving pot luck luncheon with our esteemed guests from the Fuller Center. The HOK Atlanta crew was then tasked with organizing donated surplus building materials items at the Fuller Center’s Reclaim It Atlanta Building Center and building display shelves for their fundraiser garage sale.

The Fuller Center is truly a wonderful organization that understands the power of contextual influence in the overall success of a project. Check them out at www.fullercenter.org
