Justin Zawyrucha

Justin’s dry sense of humor tends to sneak up on those who have just met him, undercutting his otherwise quirky and unassuming nature.
Born in Emeryville, Ontario, and raised in London, Ontario, Justin’s family moved to San Antonio, Texas, when he was 15 years of age. There he attended high school at what he calls, "the scariest place he has ever been." He returned to Ontario for his education, graduating from Ryerson University in 2005 with his Bachelor of Architectural Science.
Justin often credits long trips in the family van for his interest in architecture and industrial design. He often references the silhouette of a city’s skyline as his first attempts at sketching. His passion for the built environment extends well beyond architecture to include astronomy, history, psychology and zoology. He is a member of the Toronto Zoo, where he hopes to become a full-time volunteer upon retirement.
This talented young designer from Texas seems like the least likely person to write for a corporate blog. But HOK Life would definitely not be the same without his posts.
