Apple has finally announced their next big thang – the iPad. I would already be asking the people that love me to start saving up for my annual <looks at calendar> Valentine’s Day Gift, but let’s be honest here, I physically don’t have room in my purse for one. It’s already crammed full with not one but TWO iPods, an iPhone and yes, a Kindle. Let’s do the math here.
2(iPod) + iPhone + Kindle = iPad.
Therefore…
2(iPod) + iPhone + Kindle + iPad = Crazy As A Soup Sandwich
So, sorry Apple, but I think I have to pass on this one.
Unless of course Apple starts making extremely …

Most (probably all) of you have heard of Gary Hustwit’s films Helvetica and Objectified. Well this post is merely to inform you that Objectified is now out for purchase on iTunes!! Go buy it, your life will thank you. Ps- During the Atlanta screening of this film, Gary was here and mentioned that he is working on another design documentary already, but didnt say what about, or which industry. What will it be? Fashion? Interiors? Architecture?

There are things in life that are certain. Paying taxes, dying, and me making a fool of myself. Now while I was hoping my life of misfortune events stayed behind in Canada, I always seem to even surprise myself at how it’s possible to turn a simple everyday task into the longest possible nightmare imaginable.
In my last post, I described my final days at HOK. I guess I never mentioned where I went because I didn’t really think it mattered because I am just a personality on the Internet. But I moved to England.
I had been thinking that this move really was my chance to kind of grow up, or as my …
In my family there is a rash of spring birthdays. As I’ve been shopping for the little brother and sister (SPOILER ALERT: this is what I’m getting for Steve and Sarah) I’ve also been thinking about how I can reduce the waste that’s always associated with birthdays. This last Christmas both my mother and I got into Furoshiki, and as we’re both sewers, got double the gift out of it – the wrapped gift and a slew of funky fabrics!
This year, I’ll be doing the same, and would strongly recommend it to anyone out there with a gift-giving occasion coming up. I also think I’ll start trying it for things like my bagel and …

It’s nice to be in sunny Southern California where it doesn’t fall below 45 degrees most of the time. But I did come from New York City and I do ski, so I empathize with those who need gloves during the cold winter days.
So I often wonder… how do people who wear gloves in colder climates use their iPhones and iTouches as they do not have skin contact with the devices?? Do they just grin and bare it for the 2 seconds it takes to take off their glove or just not answer at all? Or how about using a Bluetooth headset?
But for those fear looking like a crazy talking to themselves, Apple does have a solution. Apparently they had …
So I won’t go on and on about Apple’s new Macbook’s here, but there is a great video summary of the design process with Jony Ive that’s at the end of the Keynote. What I would suggest doing (if you dont want to watch all 50 minutes) is to watch this video instead. However, if you want to know EVERYTHING about the new line check out the Keynote at Apple.com.
I love how the key word here is ‘essential’. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Wow. More to come.

For those of you interested in purchasing a new laptop soon might want to wait until tomorrow (October 14) to see what Apple is gonna have next in line for the holiday season, and while I can’t imagine (or speculate) that there would be ‘one more thing’ introductions like they typically do at MacWorld, you never know!!! Expect to be hearing about the new and improved additions around noon Pacific time, since it will be a launch announcement from Cupertino, CA!
