moving with the hard times…

It is no secret that times are tough. People in every industry are facing slowing business and job cuts. Everyone is thinking about innovative ways to keep costs down while improving business. For a number of people who have been laid off, there aren’t many jobs out there to compete for.

In times like these it becomes increasingly important to manage one’s finances effectively. I’ve been a fan of personal finance websites and honestly cant get enough. They come in all shapes and sizes, from people that post their individual experiences to those that aggregate popular posts from other blogs. One of the biggest is PFblogs which aggregates more than 1000 blogs .

One blog I visit frequently is Get Rich Slowly. …

The Credit Crisis Visualized

I was so inspired by the popularity of visualizations of economic madness, inspired by Jodi, of course, that I decided to post up something that is nothing less than awesome. It’s an 11 min. video visualization by Jonathan Jarvis explaining how this mess came to be. We are already ‘knee-deep’ but NOW I understand!!

Enjoy.

…And I Feel FINE…

Seems everywhere you turn there’s a shocking disaster, an emerging scandal, or a fresh demonstration of our sputtering economy.

In response to the doom-and-gloom news that surrounds us, I created a light-hearted video that blends pop culture and politics with an A-to-Z glimpse at some familiar consumer brands. It’s backed by one of my favorite tunes from 1987 (a year most commonly remembered for Black Monday, the Iran-Contra Affair and the defrocking of televangelist Jim Bakker).

And so I boldly proclaim: It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel FINE)
