Most (probably all) of you have heard of Gary Hustwit’s films Helvetica and Objectified. Well this post is merely to inform you that Objectified is now out for purchase on iTunes!! Go buy it, your life will thank you. Ps- During the Atlanta screening of this film, Gary was here and mentioned that he is working on another design documentary already, but didnt say what about, or which industry. What will it be? WOW. I just got back from seeing the film ‘Addicted to Plastic” with my husband (and plastics/sustainability expert for Umbra). The premier was screened tonight during the ‘Planet in Focus’ International Environmental Film Festival in Toronto. Filming for three years, Ian Connacher travelled 12 countries on five continents, and two trips to the middle of the Pacific Ocean where plastic debris accumulates in gyres. The feature length documentary film follows the 100-year history of plastic, providing interviews with experts on innovative solutions to dealing with the challenges it has caused - recycling, toxicity and biodegradability.
