It’s That Time Again: World’s Ugliest Buildings

200910-w-ugly-ferdinand

Last year I shared with you Virtual Tourist’s list of the Top 10 Ugliest Buildings.  There was ome serious debate as to whether or not they’d got it right.  Good news for you debators: Travel + Leisure Magazine has released their list of the World’s Ugliest Buildings (15 selections here).  I think they’ve selected some real gems here.

Again, still missing some of my most hated DC-area buildings (FBI building, shopping bag building in Tysons Corner, most of Southwest DC).

Top 10 Ugliest Buildings

Today I stumbled across Virtual Tourist’s list of The World’s Top 10 Ugliest Buildings.  It made me laugh, but I’m not sure I agree with their definition of ugly.  I think most of the building they’ve shown are unique, over-the top designs that may or may not have met the intent of the designer, owner, or occupants.

My personal top ten list would definitely include about 80% of the buildings in Tyson’s Corner, VA (affectionately referred to as “the land of the ugly buildings” in my home).  A favorite is the “toilet bowl building.”

Any nominations?
